Happy 1st of December wonderful people. This article is about a topic which is close to my heart; Storms.
As Christians we all go through seasons and storms. Good Seasons, Bad Seasons. Bad Storms and times when we’re storming through.
We all go through them, that is no doubt, and if you’re in denial of being in a storm, well, That might be the storm you’re in. Your judgement might be foggy. You’re either going through a storm, just come out of a storm, or just going into a storm. Don’t try to push them away because they are a natural thing. We have to go through storms to grow in our faith. There is always something you must deal with, and if you’re not then you’re going in the wrong direction. Head forward, it might rain along the way, but you’ve got God as your Guide. The more you don’t know where you’re going – the more you need to stick to the one who does.
There are many ways to overcome a storm, I have just picked out a few;
1) Realize the storm.
There’s no point in trying to beat something you don’t even know exists. If things arn’t going your way, or you feel like you’re going the wrong way then you are probably in a storm. Even if you know you’re in a storm, then why delude yourself into something else? Why don’t you just accept the fact that there are some clouds in your life that needs to be cleared away.
2) Act upon the storm.
Once the sun is up and everything is clear, you don’t want it to rain again, do you? So don’t slip on the same ice and fall off your path. Pray into it, Ask God to help you not fall back to where you just was, Because he will help you. I mean, For a start he is God. No more explanation needed. And secondly He’ll do anything to help you, he loves you that much he even sent his son down to die for you. That lightening has been struck. That wind has been blown. That storm has passed, don’t get lazy and fall back into the same one
3) Dance in the rain.
It’s all well and good taking shelter when it’s raining but it does you no good, you’re not moving, you’re just … waiting … waiting … waiting … God does everything for a reason, so if it rains he wants you to get wet. Step out from the cave, get wet in his love. This is the only rain which wont dampen you fire. If anything it will be like fuel, this rain will build up your fire into a raging furnace. Learn to Dance in the rain. Take off your jacket and Dance. Who knows, You may have a little fun.
4) Don’t run away.
This could be the most important point. If you’re in this storm, you’ll be in it for a reason (as said earlier on, God does everything for a reason) If you run from the rain, you’re just being a silly billy, seriously, It’s raining for a reason. Who are you to run from something God has put there? If you Run from rain, you wont be running for your life, you’ll be running from your life. Face the Rain. It’s so much easier than running. Running makes you out of breath and your knees weak. How can you proceed in your journey of life if you can’t even walk? Stop running, you’ll be full of energy and full of the life God gives You.
You will be full of Life that God gives You.
5) If you’re completely stuck.
Just before I give you the final part to this very long message, I wish to thank you for reading this.
Right, Finally. If you feel like the fog is too thick and the ice is too slippy to move anywhere, then look to Jesus. On your own you will fail, with Jesus anything is possible… let me rephrase that. With Jesus EVERYTHING is possible!
‘That day when the evening came, he said to his disciples, “Let us go over to the other side.” Leaving the crown behind, they took him along, just as he was, in the boat. There were also other boats with him. A furious storm came up, and the waves broke over the boat, so that it was nearly swamped. Jesus was in the stern, sleeping on a cushion. The disciples woke him and said to him “teacher, don’t you care if we drown?” He got up, rebuked the wind and said to the waves “Quiet! Be still!” then the wind died down and it was completely calm. He said to his disciples “Why are you so afraid? Do you still have no faith?” They where terrified and asked each other “Who is this? Even the wind and waves obey him!”‘ – Mark 4:35-41 (NIV)
Even the wind and the waves obey him!
If Jesus can calm that storm, he can easily calm yours! Don’t be afraid, have faith, Jesus will deliver help! The only way you’ll get his help is by praying. Ask and you shall receive.
Keep your head up, how can you look to Jesus for help if you’re staring at the ground.
That’s it. I hope this has helped you.
Thanks for reading. Stay tuned.
