The Cage, The Decision, The Breakout.

30 Dec

Hello!
I have no mildly funny introduction today so I’m just going to go straight into what you came here for. This article is carrying on the series of Light.

You’ll never be a happy sinner. It may do at first, give you abit of joy, maybe a sense of rebellion, but when you commit to sin you become a slave to it. Long term, you can’t be a happy sinner, It’s not possible, You can try and delude yourself into thinking that you don’t need God, but he’s the cornerstone. Sinning doesn’t make you happy. It’s what the Devil wants you to do, so why would it fulfill you. The Devil trys to fill your minds with a load of lies. He trys to make you feel like you’re strong enough to live without God, that you’re strong enough to sin constantly. You think these thoughts are your own, but anything related to sin is the Devil, I can assure you that. You think by sinning you can still see, you think that you’re freed by it. That you don’t have to follow some rules, you can live how you want to. Sinning doesn’t free you. Think about it, really. Sin stops you from achieving your potnetial, it’s a barrier, an obstacle which must be overcome. Sinning boxes you in, it doesn’t free you. It drops you into a Dark, Small Cage.
A Cage which clouds your vision. A Cage which keeps you in, keeps you blind. Being sinful is like being in a Cage of Darkness. It’s Claustrophobic, Painful, Scary.
Jesus didn’t die so you could worship a box, he didn’t take nails through his hands so you could be boxed in and broken down. Jesus didn’t conquer death so you could sit in Darkness. He died so you could be saved, by his wounds you have been healed!
Every drop of blood that dripped down his face was a sign that he loved us. In fact, he loved us so much that he actually died for us. Just think for a second, He actually died!
He died so you could be saved, not so you could sin.
That’s truth. But instead of me telling you things, I’ll help you out.
Getting out of the cage may seem hard, some things may need to be cast aside. You might need to do some more things in your life. But really, Getting out only takes one simple thing; Making a Decision. It could be the decision to read your Bible more often, it could be the decision to drop the sin. It could be to pray more, to ask God more often for help, to be more pure, to obey God’s word more. It could be anything. But all it takes is a Decision, nothing more. Granted you may need to do some work to get out, but that work will never take place unless a decision is made.
Once a decision is made, you can think about your Breakout.
A warrior never goes into Battle without his (or her) armour. And there’s only one armour that will help you tear down the walls of this cage; The Armour Of Light.
‘The Night is Nearly over; The day is almost here. So let us put aside the deeds of Darkness and put on the armour of Light.’ – Romans 13:12 (NIV)
Come on! The Night is nearly over, the dawn is almost here. The Next day is almost upon us, the next step is around the corner. Put aside those deeds of Darkness, drop the sin, Cast aside what is holding you back! Put on the armour of Light! Wield your sword! Begin to strike down the four sides of the cage. The cage that has held you so long, the cage that will soon be no more! No more! Breakout! Break the Chains, Breakout of Darkness, Break the Box. Put on your armor. Your armour is God! God is your Light, God will knock away the arrows from the evil one, He’ll help you see, he’ll be your armour. Your Protector. Do not Worry, God is here to help. Be a warrior, not a worrier.
God is our shield, and we our his sword.
He protects us, but we need to be his instrument and spread the word.
Break other people’s cages. People who have needed your sword for a long time. People who are distant, people who are near.
It’s time for Breakout!
Break out of Darkness, Break off the Chains.
You are Free!
You’ve always been free!
You’ll always be free!

Thanks for Reading.

Nicholas.

Sorry mate, I’ve kinda rushed this one so I’ve not taken into consideration other people and that. So I am sorry if I offended you, I didn’t mean it like that. I just mean that, when you’re always doing bad things and living a life of sin it will make you unhappy, Christian or not. Sorry Mate.

Well, I know I’m a stranger here and it seems like you two know each other, but I just had a thought or about Cristopher’s comment. From the Christian perspective, Nick’s post is true. If life had an ultimate end without God, then there would really be no need for Jesus would there? The whole point is that “all have sinned” and therefore need to humble themselves and submit to God’s will. The “offense” of this is not Nick’s, but God’s, so really Chris is offended at God for pursuing him, not that Nick is saying so.

Furthermore, for Chris to be offended at this is really the point of Christianity isn’t it? God tells us all that we are missing the point without him. We all should be offended by that. Some of us choose to struggle with God over the offending issue – that struggle is what he wants. Some of us don’t choose to struggle and instead ignore God’s will – that is their business, and they have every right to do so. But to be just offended that anyone challenges your worldview is childish and self aggrandizing. Nick, you’re spot on. Chris, don’t get mad at Nick, take it up with God – that’s what he wants, to wrestle a while with you.

Mr Danny Anderson, That is brilliant. Genuenilly, I don’t know if I’ve heard that before (I Probably haven’t) but that is really good. It’s such a good perspective to look at it and I’m gald you agree with the post. So, yeah, Thanks alot šŸ™‚
Chris, as I’ve said before, you’re a good guy and I respect you. But Danny is right in what he says, I’m just a messenger, I was made to love people. God is the Judge, God is the almighty one, I’m nothing compared to him. So God is the one you should be questioning, not myself, because I don’t have all the answers:-)

see this is where Christianity angers me, you preach about being able to have freedom and how god died for us and how he has given us the gift of free will and yet you wont just let people be happy with their lives, you tend to categorize people and this really annoys me, you see someone who is atheist and immediately say “oh hes atheist, he cant be happy because he doesn’t worship god” just because someone is atheist doesn’t mean they can’t be happy. i am perfectly happy with my life. but what about a child that is starving in a third world country, who prays everyday, is he supposed to be happy? only good, caring people will be able to help him god has nothing to do with it, if he dies before his first birthday of disease will he die happy just because he has prayed to some god? no of-course he wont, so next time don’t be so quick to judge and put down people, let them live their lives and spare your criticism. don’t worry about it Chris if your happy then don’t let these people tell you your not.

Woah, Where did that come from? Not once did I say that “Oh, Atheists can’t be happy because they don’t believe in God” some of my best friends are atheists, strong atheists, not agnostic, 100% atehist. And I think it’s abit hypocritical that you’re telling me not to prejudge people (which I’m not) and then you’re prejudging me by saying that I categorize people. I’m not telling him that he’s not happy, I don’t know who he is, I don’t know who you are, I’ve said before; you could be the happiest men alive. And like Danny said the other day, you keep asking me these questions which I can’t answer. God has an answer, so stop asking a 15 year old boy who’s been in faith less than a year. I don’t think you should read my articles anymore because clearly they upset you and get annoyed at me for expressing what God has told me to put on here. Im done with trying to explain to you, honestly, I’m done. Have a good life, Happy new year.

Hey, I’m probably going to regret getting into this but I don’t think it’s completely ok for you to say “nobody has ever heard God back” because lots of people believe that they have. The Bible is full of people writing down what they believe that God has told them, and just because you haven’t heard Him, doesn’t make what they believe invalid. I don’t mean any of this in an aggressive way at all but I just don’t think anyone can say conclusively, This. Is. Fact… Ok, bye! šŸ™‚

That’s why religion is based on faith. Faith is believing in something that you can’t prove but you don’t have to for you to believe it. It’s annoying I know because I used to say that too and it’s still the thing I struggle with but if you believe in God, all that matters is that He can hear you.

I can’t explain why this is but the people struggling the most are the most enthusiatic christians. My friends went to Ethiopia with their church and they found that the young kids with nothing thanked God for the fact that they were alive which they thought was enough. I don’t know why that is but there you go.

On another post you said you were open to religion. Laughing it off without telling me why you think my comment was stupid isn’t being open to it and just shuts down the conversation. Don’t be defensive about religion if you brought up all these arguments in the first place because I’m happy to talk about it with you.

iv just realised how evil and pathetic the idea of religion is over the past few weeks ,it causes so much death annd false hope.
religion is midevile, why do every culture have there own god. over thousands of years gods have come and gone:zeus apollo osiris amun ra if anyone believes in them they are seen as stupid now but why is it any different to god now? it isnt. nowere near as many people believe in god as they used to . religion is dieing out whether you like it not. people have seen past ancient ways religion was used to make people stop raping people and murdering. ”dont do that or you will go to a nasty place and burn forever” ”but god loves you definatly”
and by saying god works in mysterious ways, that is like the christian way of telling someone to ”look over there” then running away

      January 3, 2013 at 4:34 pm

Haha! I actually love that last bit! :’) Seriously though they are really good points and I completely hear where you’re coming from. Many Gods have died out and I don’t know why some Gods outlast others.
That bit about religion stopping people from raping and murdering people isn’t a bad thing though surely? And I know that it’s hard getting your head around the whole God hates what you do but loves you anyway thing, but I see it like family. I know that if I did something wrong they would be disappointed in me and they would find it hard to forgive, but they would still love me. You know what I mean?
As a serious question, why do you think religion causes death and false hope? I don’t think you can say it’s false because no-one can prove or disprove it and religion does give hope to people which can’t be a bad thing?

  11. Christopher

    January 3, 2013 at 5:47 pm

that bit isnt a bad thing to stop murder but , it dosent meen the religion bit is true, watch the invention of lying then you will know what i meen man

ok view it like family then if you did something wrong would your mother or father put you in an oven for eternity with a devil who tortures you?

it kills people because of war , 9/11 was caused by religion , one of my close friends family members died in the attack and im not saying muslims all do that, i view all religions the same(unlike religious people ) but when it comes down to it , that and many other wars would not of happened without religion
im sorry i dont know your name or religion but it sounds like christianity. i asked this nick and got no answer:
if you were born in new deli or pakistan would you still be a christian?

      January 3, 2013 at 6:43 pm

I wanted to see that, is it the one with Ricky Gervais?
And your points are all completely valid but I don’t think religion causes wars, people cause wars. They may put their reasons down to religion but at the end of the day, I don’t believe that any God would tell people to kill for whatever cause. I’m sorry for your friend and I know that the people that carried out that attack were only a few people and no-one agreed with it.
That’s a really good question… I’ve never thought about that. My family isn’t religious so that’s not the reason I am… I’ve never heard God for myself or anything so I suppose not. I don’t get the significance though?

  12. Christopher

    January 3, 2013 at 6:57 pm

    yeh thats the one
yes but like i said the reason for war is religion. yes you can say its people that cause the war but if you look back to the cause it is religion theres no 2 ways about it
and the signification is that religion is just regional based it means that you believe what you hear
you dont believe in 9999 gods why dont you not believe in 10000

I did watch it and honestly I just sat crying. I don’t think it’s fair what he did. I know it sounds silly but if you’ve put your life into religion and then some bloke turns around and says “yeah sorry you’re just imagining things” it’s really hard to hear. I felt really bad for the girl who he did it to because she completely believed it and then to find out that he was making it happen… I think that was really wrong. But at the end of the day, he even admitted that he couldn’t say christians were wrong, he was just offering an explanation and, for me, it wasn’t good enough and I still believe in it šŸ™‚

Hey, I never said that! You can’t use other people’s comebacks against me! :’)
You keep throwing horrible diseases at me and asking me why God does it… I don’t know? There’s no answer that you’re going to be happy with so I’m just going to say that I don’t understand why people suffer but I believe that Heaven more than makes up for it which, I know will want you to throw your computer across the room. Sorry!
      John 10:28-

Firstly, I’d just like to say that I really like reading your blog, it’s very interesting and I think you out across some brilliant ideas/interpretations.
The main reason I’m commenting though is that there was something about this post in particular that struck a chord and I was wondering, if a person was a sinner – a regular sinner – and they were in the dark… Well, what if they didn’t mind being in the dark? What if their sin didn’t seem like a sin to them and therefore could cope with the possible repercussions of God’s wrath? Does it still count?
I was just wondering, sorry to have bothered you.
    Courtney

Hello, Thankyou. It means alot when people reply so don’t worry you’re not bothering me:-) And well, if a person knew they sinned and knew that the things they did where bad and also knew that by doing those things it kept them in the dark then that’s fine, it’s their choice. I’m just here to point out the consequences. The consequence of sinning constantly without fail meaning you go to hell. I know that statement seems abit ‘in your face’ but at the end of the day, that’s what happens. And I’m not quite sure what you mean by the second bit, could you rephrase that? šŸ™‚

      • ChemicalCourtney

        January 9, 2013 at 4:30 pm

Ah I get it, thank you that helped. And the second bit… I just meant more like what does God count as a sin? Because if a person doesn’t know that they are committing a sin then surely they aren’t? Just curious

        January 9, 2013 at 8:20 pm

I don’t know. That’s the brutal truth. I say this time and time again when I don’t know an answer. I was born to love people, God is the ultimate judge. He decides what a sin is and what isn’t, he decides who goes to heaven, who doesn’t, all that. But truly, I don’t know. I was just born to love people šŸ™‚
